The Ronald McDonald House in Latvia is a public-benefit charitable organization whose goal is to provide children in Latvia with timely, professional, and free healthcare, regardless of where they live or their families’ financial circumstances.
We work with the conviction that children’s health is a shared responsibility of society. By combining the expertise of doctors with the support of the community, we are building a system that provides real and measurable help to children throughout Latvia.

We believe that a child’s health cannot be put on hold, as timely diagnosis and professional consultation are crucial to a child’s development.
Significant inequalities in access to health care still exist in Latvia. Families in rural areas often have difficulty seeing specialists in a timely manner, especially those with narrow specializations.
This means longer wait times, additional costs, and, not infrequently, a delayed diagnosis.
Our work is focused on addressing these issues by ensuring that high-quality medical care is available closer to where children live.
“Children’s Health Bus” is our flagship initiative, a mobile healthcare program that brings doctors to children throughout Latvia.

This approach allows a child to receive consultations from several specialists during a single visit, reducing the need to visit multiple medical facilities.
The program is staffed by experienced doctors from various specialties, including a pediatric neurologist, a pediatric endocrinologist, a pediatric gastroenterologist, an ophthalmologist, and other specialists.
Many of them work at the Children’s Clinical University Hospital on a daily basis, ensuring high professional standards in the regions as well.
Our approach is multidisciplinary, as we assess a child’s health as a whole rather than in isolation, which helps ensure more effective and coordinated treatment.
Since 2010, we have provided more than 69,000 free medical consultations to children throughout Latvia.
