On Sunday, December 6, 2026, Riga Old Town will once again be filled with hundreds of Santas, festive music and a shared desire to help. Santa Fun Run Riga 2026 will take place at Dome Square, inviting families, friends, colleagues and everyone interested to enjoy an active and joyful afternoon while supporting children’s health in Latvia.
Santa Fun Run Riga has become one of Riga’s most heartwarming and colourful Christmas events. During the event, an impressive sea of red-clad Santas fills the city centre as participants set off on an approximately two-kilometre route through Riga’s historic centre.
This event is not a race, and it does not matter who reaches the finish line first. Participants can run, walk or stroll along the route at their own pace. No previous running experience or special physical preparation is required. The most important thing is to be together, enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and help children throughout Latvia through your participation.
Santa Fun Run Riga is a family-friendly event welcoming participants of all ages. You can take part with your children, friends or colleagues, or come on your own and join the large team of Santas.
The event is a wonderful opportunity for families to spend time together, for company teams to strengthen their connections and for groups of friends to create shared festive memories. Participants are invited to embrace the Christmas spirit and experience Riga Old Town in a special and unusual way.
The participation ticket includes a Santa suit and a commemorative medal. Santa suits are limited, so we recommend registering early when ticket sales open.
Santa Fun Run Riga is organised by the Riga International Rotary Club, and the event’s proceeds will support Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā and its Children’s Care Mobile.
The Care Mobile travels to different locations across Latvia, giving children the opportunity to receive essential specialist medical consultations free of charge and closer to home. This is especially important for families living in regions where access to certain medical specialists is limited and travelling to an appointment may require considerable time and additional expenses.
The Care Mobile’s regular visits bring healthcare closer to children and their families. A timely specialist consultation can help identify potential health concerns earlier, provide families with the necessary recommendations, and, when needed, ensure that further examinations or treatment begin without delay.
Community members, donors and partners make it possible for the Care Mobile to continue travelling and providing free consultations to children. Every Santa Fun Run Riga participant therefore makes a meaningful contribution. By joining the event, we not only create a joyful Christmas atmosphere in the centre of Riga but also help make healthcare more accessible to children throughout Latvia.
Santa Fun Run Riga will take place on Sunday, December 6, at Dome Square.
12:30 – Santa suit collection and on-site ticket sales begin
14:30 – Group warm-up before the run
15:00 – Santa Fun Run starts
15:30 – Festive party with DJs and Christmas music
17:00 – End of the event
The route will be approximately two kilometres long and will take participants through Riga Old Town. Everyone can choose their preferred pace and complete the route by running, walking or strolling.
After completing the route, participants are invited to stay at Dome Square and continue enjoying the festive atmosphere, music and Christmas songs together.
To take part in Santa Fun Run Riga, you will need to purchase a participation ticket. Tickets will be available both online and at Dome Square on the day of the event. Online ticket sales are expected to open in the second half of September.
The number of Santa suits is limited; that’s why we encourage participants to purchase their tickets in advance. Early registration will help secure a suit and allow you to prepare for the group start without rushing on the day of the event.
