Our “Children’s Care Mobile” has a new nickname: Labusiņš. And it’s more than just a new name. This single word encapsulates the story of who we are, what we do, and why we set out every day to visit children throughout Latvia.

Why Labusiņš?

The name came about quite naturally, by combining two essential aspects of our work.

“Lab” symbolises our work as a charitable organisation and our desire to do good for the children and families of Latvia. The “busiņš,” meanwhile, is an integral part of our daily operations; it regularly travels to cities and regions across Latvia to ensure that children have access to the healthcare they need closer to where they live.

And that’s how Labusiņš came to be —a little bus that sets out on a journey to do good.

On the Way to Children Across Latvia

The mission of the “Children’s Care Mobile” remains unchanged. We continue to provide free consultations with various pediatric specialists in areas where access is limited and where, for families, the journey to see the necessary specialist often involves long distances, extra time, and expenses.

Labusiņš goes wherever it is needed to help bring healthcare closer to children and their families.

It’s not just a place where a child sees a doctor. It’s a place where parents can get expert advice and clarity on the next steps, while children can receive the help they need closer to home.

“Labusiņš” is more than just a term of endearment

With this new nickname, we want to further highlight the essence of the “Children’s Health Bus,” which is to be there for children and families when they need healthcare support.

So from now on, whenever you see Labusiņš on the roads of Latvia or in your town, know that it’s on its way to visit the children again.

Labusiņš: doing good on the way to children!
