In May, Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā, in partnership with Rimi Latvia, is launching a fundraising campaign to support the operations of the Children’s Care Mobile in Latvia’s regions. From May 1 through June 4, everyone is invited to get involved and help make healthcare services more accessible to children closer to where they live.
For 16 years now, the Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā “Children’s Care Mobile” has been travelling to families throughout Latvia so that children in rural areas can receive the necessary specialist consultations. On the Children’s Care Mobile, children can see various specialists, including an otolaryngologist, pediatric neurologist, ophthalmologist, optometrist, rehabilitation physician, pediatric allergist, pediatric pulmonologist, pediatric endocrinologist, pediatric gastroenterologist, dermatologist, and pediatric surgeon or orthopedist.
This year, the Children’s Care Mobile will travel to various locations in Latvia, including Bēne, Skrīveri, Dagda, and other regional towns and parishes where access to medical specialists remains limited. The project is particularly important for families who have difficulty reaching medical facilities or receiving the necessary care for their children in a timely manner.
2025. In 2025, the Children’s Care Mobile made 114 trips to 60 locations in Latvia, providing more than 5,000 medical consultations to more than 4,000 children. These figures demonstrate how important access to mobile healthcare is in the regions and how many families receive the support they need each year.
“Together, we can help ensure that timely diagnosis, prevention, and consultations with specialists reach even more children throughout Latvia,” emphasises Guna Caune, executive director of Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā.
During the campaign, donations can be made in several ways: at all Rimi store registers, by transferring funds from your “Mans Rimi” card, or by making an online donation on the Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā website. Even a small contribution helps ensure that children receive timely medical care.
Since 2010, Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā has been providing mobile healthcare services solely through donations. Over the years, more than 70,000 specialist consultations have been provided to children throughout Latvia.
