On May 15, a heartfelt and inspiring Family Day took place at Bastejkalns, bringing together families, children, and supporters to celebrate a new chapter for our organisation, “Ronald McDonald Māja Latvijā.” The organisation has adopted a new visual identity and name, but our core values- care, support, and assistance for families with children in Latvia remain unchanged.
The Family Day event took place in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere, where everyone had the opportunity to participate in various creative and team-building activities. At the “Wall of Happiness,” children and parents worked together to create a colourful and joyful world, expressing their vision of happiness, friendship, and family through their drawings.
The bracelet-making workshop was also very well received, where families worked together to create special bracelets as a symbol of closeness, support, and a reminder that we are always there for one another during life’s most important moments.
Meanwhile, at the letter-writing workshop, participants wrote messages of goodwill, encouragement, and strength to families with children who are currently going through a difficult time. These heartfelt letters became a special expression of support for those who need it most.
A genuine sense of togetherness, joy, and mutual support prevailed during the event. Family Day served as a reminder of how important it is to spend time together, to care for one another, and to have the opportunity to help those who face daily challenges related to their children’s health and medical treatment.
Moments like these strengthen the community and reaffirm that even a little support can help families with children on their path to a faster recovery.
